I'm sure most of us are aware of the disastrous incident that certainly tarnished the image of our country. Yes, I'm talking about Bersih 3.0. You could see from the media, either printed or online, the havoc created had caused so many damages towards the public amenities and also a few shops around the area. And a police car too. It was overturned, upside down. People claimed that it was to save 2 person pinned under the car after the police car lost control and hit the demonstrators unexpectedly. Thank god the policemen is alive and currently being treated at the hospital and so does the 2 injured people. I hope all of them will get well soon.
Now, back to the topic at hand. Demonstrations or rally, for me personally, it is a nuisance not only to the country but also to the citizens. Just imagine the shop owners around the affected area. They will have no income whatsoever as tourists and shoppers avoided the city centre. I wonder why did those idiot Bersih leaders didn't take the offer the government gave them. A few locations was suggested like Stadium Merdeka and etc. But as expected, they turned it down. They were adamant to enter Dataran Merdeka for some reason I can't apprehend.
Who have to cleaned up all of the mess after the rally? Yes, the authorities. Using who's money? Yes, the taxpayers money. So, tell me, would the Bersih leaders fork out their own money and pay for the damages caused? Never in a million years. They're selfish anyway. Each with their very own agendas and taking each other advantages for their own greedy intentions. They claimed that election is not clean. Well, do explain 2008 where the opposition (Pakatan Rusuhan) won in Kedah, Perak, Penang, Kelantan and Selangor. That's freaking 5 states and not to mention they captured the 2 top rich states, Penang and Selangor due to the industrial manufacturing businesses located there. And still, they claim the election is not clean.
I'm not saying I don't support their agenda, which is to make the election in this country clean. Of course I want that to happen. No matter who won the election, they must win it genuinely and chosen purely by the citizens. But, I am against the method being used to convey their message. Why can't they do it peacefully like handing over memorandum to the head of the country? Or maybe debate it in the parliament? What is this rallying and demonstrating thing. Is violence becoming a norm for Malaysians to resolve issues? We are heading towards being a developed country. Our infrastructures and economics stance is heading that way but our minds, sadly, are still third world.
I hope Bersih and all of the Pakatan leaders come back to their senses and do the right thing. Be a brilliant opposition which fights for economic progress and promote stability. Not this barbaric kind of opposition. We don't need this here. Best example you say? Look at the Democrats (Obama) and Republican (Romney). They do not attack each others personality but their agendas for the country. Be professional and fight for the people. Don't fight for your pockets.
Note: There are times where I wish I could steal you from there and put you here, next to me :)
